Local residents volunteered brave the cold and meet at Oak Lawn Cemetery this past weekend to tend to the neglected gravesites there. The debacle over at Oak Lawn has been ongoing for a few years now, as we’ve posted about previously, and local residents became increasingly frustrated and decided to take matters into their own hands.

Businesses even jumped in to support the effort by providing hot coffee and tea from Starbucks, bagels, and food from Panera Bread, bottled water from Farnsworth House, pizza from Dominos (delivered right to the cemetery!), and flags from Lowes. One of the Organizers, Cindy Codori-Shultz expressed her thanks to all those volunteers who came out and spent their time and physical effort to maintain such a sacred site for many local Adams County families. She also thanked the businesses who came out for their support and encourages all of us to show our thanks by support these businesses in return.

Below are some of the pictures of this amazing effort!
